Lead Teacher for Children with Vision Impairment

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced teacher to lead our team of professionals supporting children and young people with sensory impairment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the deployment of high-quality support and advice to Merton's schools and settings.
- Advise the Sensory Service Manager and colleagues within the team about good practice in the education of children with VI.
- Manage a personal caseload including both advisory and direct teaching support for children with VI.
- Contribute to the development of policy and practice within the service to meet the challenges of changes at national and local level.
Requirements:
- Hold the Mandatory Qualification in VI.
- Expertise in specialist technologies used to remove barriers to learning for children and young people with VI.
- Knowledge of current SEND policy and practice, especially as it affects teaching and learning within provision for the sensory impaired.
- Ability to work in a variety of settings as part of a service and multi-disciplinary team.
- Current driver's license and access to a car.
