**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teacher of children with Vision Impairment (VI) to lead on the deployment of high-quality support and advice to our schools and settings.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Advise the Sensory Service Manager and colleagues within the team about best practice in the education of children with VI.
  • Manage a personal caseload including both advisory and direct teaching support for children with VI.
  • Contribute to the development of policy and practice within the service to meet the challenges of changes at national and local level.
  • Ensure an in-depth knowledge of the requirements for safeguarding and child protection, strategies and current SEND policy and practice, especially as it affects teaching and learning within provision for the sensory impaired.

**Requirements**

  • Hold the Mandatory Qualification in VI.
  • Expertise in specialist technologies used to remove barriers to learning for children and young people with VI.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work in a variety of settings as part of a service and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Hold a current driver's license and have access to a car.
