We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced teacher to lead our team of professionals supporting children and young people with sensory impairment. As a Lead Teacher for Children with Vision Impairment, you will be responsible for advising the Sensory Service Manager and colleagues on best practices in the education of children with visual impairment.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a personal caseload of advisory and direct teaching support for children with visual impairment
- Contribute to the development of policy and practice within the service to meet the challenges of changes at national and local level
- Advise on the use of specialist technologies to remove barriers to learning for children and young people with visual impairment
- Hold a current driver's license and have access to a car
- Qualified and experienced Teacher of children with visual impairment
- Mandatory Qualification in Visual Impairment
- Expertise in specialist technologies used to support children and young people with visual impairment
- Knowledge of current SEND policy and practice, especially as it affects teaching and learning within provision for the sensory impaired
- MPS + SEN2 + TLR2 + Inner London weighting
- Essential car allowance
- Opportunity to work in a dynamic team of experienced professionals
