We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teacher of children with Vision Impairment (VI) to lead on the deployment of high-quality support and advice to Merton's schools and settings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for advising the Sensory Service Manager and colleagues within the team about good practice in the education of children with VI. Expertise in specialist technologies used to remove barriers to learning for children and young people with VI is vital.

The role involves managing a personal caseload including both advisory and direct teaching support for children with VI. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of policy and practice within the service to meet the challenges of changes at national and local level.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current SEND policy and practice, especially as it affects teaching and learning within provision for the sensory impaired. They will also be enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work in a variety of settings as part of a service and multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current driver's license and have access to a car. A car mileage allowance and Essential Car User Permit is available.

For this role, you will need to apply for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
