Role Summary

CHC Helicopters is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager Crew Training to join our team. As a key member of our Flight Training department, you will be responsible for the provision of the CHC UK Flight Training program to support safe and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a training system that meets the company's operational needs, prioritizing safety and compliance.
  • Drive the implementation and adherence of CHC's harmonized flight operations standards and procedures.
  • Ensure a high standard of training and testing is maintained, adhering to OM Part A, B, C, D, F, and G.
  • Monitor and maintain flight crew training through regular observation and appraisal.
  • Arrange training programs for efficient and cost-effective use of aircraft, simulators, training facilities, and training manpower.
  • Set flight crew proficiency standards at the highest level, in close liaison with other MCTs and under the supervision of the Head of Flight Training.
  • Meet regulatory requirements related to training, testing, and checking of flight crew.
  • Maintain active and positive dialogue with regulatory agencies to ensure acceptable standards and business continuity.
  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of QMS/LMS/EGS systems and associated pilot record management, ensuring audit readiness and compliance with OMD requirements.
  • Work closely with outside resources for the delivery of training.
  • Maintain active and positive dialogue with customers and relevant 3rd party providers, ensuring acceptable standards and business continuity.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant regulations.
  • Be willing to fly in their AOC to maintain recency.
  • Be an active member of the UK CHC Management Team and support other UK departments and functions when required.
  • Attend and participate in the Operational Review Board and other management meetings as required.
  • Be willing to travel internationally at times with short notice.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Considerable aviation management experience, including time in the helicopter sector.
  • Effective leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and drive a high-performing team.
  • Knowledge of local aviation legislation and standards.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs.
  • A satisfactory record in conduct or management of air operations.
  • A satisfactory record in conduct or management of training and checking in relation to air operations.
  • Experience in setting up training systems/methodologies and procedures.
  • Experience with project-orientated working methods.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent collaborative problem-solving skills, with the ability to envision a system-wide solution.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to conduct research in course development and delivery concepts.
  • Ability to work under pressure to achieve and maintain pre-determined service levels.
