This new department will be pivotal to our growth, and we are seeking a skilled Air Import Operator to lay the groundwork for our ambitious plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate substantial experience in air import and/or export operations within the air freight sector.
  • Prepare and submit customs clearance entries for both exports and imports proficiently.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to customer service excellence, coupled with a professional telephone demeanor.
  • Air Dangerous Goods (DG) training is preferred; however, training will be provided if necessary.
  • Execute job functions in alignment with DP World's global freight forwarding operational standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulations.
  • Support account initiation by collaborating with sales to gather necessary documentation for Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Conduct weekly audits of files to ensure compliance with estimated inputs, profit margins, and timely invoicing.
  • Assist clients with daily inquiries related to export/import documentation to ensure accurate execution of transportation files.
  • Address and resolve shipment irregularities as they arise.
  • Provide clients with comprehensive flight details to guarantee a smooth flow of information.
  • Collaborate with airlines to secure optimal solutions regarding capacity and cost for transportation files.
  • Prepare and execute customer quotations promptly.
  • Engage with DP World’s internal network and external partner agents to ensure superior service delivery.
  • Respond swiftly to any emergency situations that may occur during the lifecycle of an air file.
  • Network with fellow operations colleagues to provide support during periods of workflow overload.
  • Maintain customer reports as required.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in air operations and customer service within freight forwarding.
  • Experience in freight forwarding is essential.

Skills:

  • Solid understanding of the freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong execution skills to ensure initiatives are implemented effectively, with a focus on accuracy and follow-up.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet various deadlines.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, particularly in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
