Position Overview

Churchill Estates Management is currently seeking a Senior Ledger Clerk to join our expanding Service Charge Finance Department. In this pivotal role, you will provide leadership and support to a dedicated team, ensuring the effective management of Sales and Purchase Ledger operations to facilitate the accurate completion of Service Charge accounts across various retirement properties.

​As a Senior Ledger Clerk, your responsibilities will encompass:

Serving as the primary point of contact for inquiries from the Ledger team and stepping in for your supervisor when necessary.Overseeing HR-related functions for the Ledger team, including performance reviews, absence management, recruitment, and training initiatives.Addressing daily inquiries from field teams, suppliers, and clients.Collaborating with the Service Charge Ledger Supervisor on system evaluations, process enhancements, and ensuring robust controls for data modifications using Qube.Timely processing of supplier invoices on a daily basis.Managing expense claims for field teams, verifying submissions, calculations, and approvals.Facilitating bi-weekly payment processes, assisting with Direct Debit collections and managing Direct Debit mandates.Supporting daily banking operations as needed.

Working Hours

Your working hours will be from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday, with a one-hour lunch break each day.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for the Senior Ledger Clerk position will possess a strong background in Sales and Purchase Ledger, complemented by previous supervisory or team leadership experience.

Key attributes include:

Excellent organizational skills and a proactive 'can-do' attitude.Strong communication abilities and a friendly, approachable demeanor.High levels of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail, particularly when handling extensive numerical data.Familiarity with Qube and MS Office, preferably at an Intermediate Level.Educational qualifications at a minimum of A level standard or equivalent, with a preference for accounting or IRPM certifications.
