The Opportunity

Finatal is representing a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) organization that is backed by private equity and is preparing for a strategic exit in the near future. The company has demonstrated a remarkable track record of 30% annual growth, and as it approaches this exit, the Finance Director for the manufacturing sector is seeking a proactive and versatile Finance Business Partner.

This position requires an individual who is ready to engage comprehensively across financial operations, taking the lead on control and planning activities while also supporting working capital management and product profitability analysis. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a collaborative Finance Director who values autonomy in the role and offers the chance to contribute to the exit strategy.

The Responsibilities

As a key partner, you will optimize working capital and analyze product profitability while building cooperative relationships with operational, sales, and customer service teams to deliver insightful financial analyses. You will ensure timely and precise reporting and forecasting of financial performance, including month-end results. You will also be responsible for financial compliance and controls, overseeing the finance department's daily operations.

  • Key finance responsibilities include enhancing visibility across finance, generating reports to analyze material costs, variances to cost models, and other critical metrics.
  • Month-end: preparation and distribution of internal monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Preparation of bi-weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Conducting reconciliations.
  • Year-end: preparation of year-end management and statutory accounts, including tax and audit documentation.
  • Support and manage the finance team (AP/AR, etc.).
  • VAT reporting.
  • Ad hoc projects.
  • Proficient knowledge of UKGAAP and IFRS.

The Requirements

  • You must be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or hold an equivalent international qualification.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed environment is preferred, along with a skill set adaptable to a dynamic, growth-oriented setting.
