About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at Yodel. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting our operations teams to drive financial performance and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior operational stakeholders to deliver large-scale operating projects and ensure team achievement of business-as-usual operating targets.
  • Support the Head of Operations Finance and Director of Finance in driving optimum financial performance from Yodel's operations teams.
  • Embed a culture of robust financial performance and cost control within the operations teams.
  • Establish strong, trusting relationships with operating teams to ensure delivery of results needed to meet overarching financial targets.
  • Support service centre operations with cost reduction plans and ensure consistent operation at the lowest cost to serve model.
  • Work closely with divisional directors and regional managers to understand financials and identify opportunities to remove operating costs without compromising service metrics.
  • Support operational finance analysts in creating cost forecasts for service centres and engage operating teams in the process.
  • Chair review meetings with operating teams to assess performance against signed-off plans and work closely to remedy problematic cost areas.
  • Maintain tight control of weekly flashed cost performance to ensure variances to period-end results are kept to a minimum.
  • Ensure adherence to Yodel financial policies and procedures, maintaining robust financial and cash control and governance.
Requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management experience in a similar business-facing finance role.
  • Confidence to support and challenge colleagues as necessary.
  • Ambitious and able to communicate effectively to all levels across the business, including the senior leadership team.
  • Ideal experience in the logistics and/or retail sectors.
  • Ability to interpret finance data for non-finance colleagues.
  • Ideal qualification in a finance professional body (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).
