About the Role

VMA Direct is proud to partner with Stonewall, a leading LGBTQ+ rights organization, to recruit a seasoned Head of Communications and Campaigns. This critical role will support Stonewall's work during a pivotal stage in its evolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute impactful communications strategies to drive Stonewall's mission forward.
  • Lead a team of 5 direct reports across campaigns, PR/media, and digital, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Campaigns and Human Rights to turn Stonewall's strategy into tangible action with significant impact.
  • Ensure the voices of all communities represented by Stonewall, particularly trans and BAME communities, are heard in decision-making processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to maintain Stonewall's position as a leader in LGBTQ+ rights advocacy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in senior communications roles, with a strong track record of delivering impactful campaigns and strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate direct reports.
  • Strong understanding of LGBTQ+ issues and a commitment to Stonewall's values and mission.
  • Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and empathetically to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving results and achieving goals.
