Job Summary:

Greenpeace UK is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Head of Politics and Campaigns. As a key member of our programme leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing political strategies across our campaigns, leveraging our organisational strengths in media work, mass engagement, investigations, non-violent direct action, and organising.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of political strategies and oversee their implementation across our campaigns.
  • Work closely with the programme leadership team and other key colleagues to ensure effective collaboration and coordination.
  • Provide line management and leadership to a team of political campaigners, fostering a collaborative, effective, and supportive working culture.
  • Nurture a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging the team to think creatively and develop new approaches to achieving our goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including politicians, policymakers, and other influencers.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in politics and policy, including relevant UK and international political fora, UK devolved assemblies, and local councils.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including communications, digital, and fundraising, to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to our campaigns.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in politics and campaign management, with a strong understanding of the relationships between political change and the use of media, digital channels, and mass engagement.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of political campaigners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong focus on delivering results and achieving goals.
