About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Politics and Public Affairs team as a Politics and Public Affairs Assistant. In this role, you will play a key part in helping us deliver high-impact change strategies and build relationships with key stakeholders in the UK political landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, analyze, and disseminate UK political intelligence to inform our advocacy and influencing work, including the production of our weekly Political Round-Up.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of relationships with key political contacts in Westminster, helping to raise our profile and awareness of our positions on key issues among a wider political audience.
  • Produce high-quality written briefings to MPs, Peers, MEPs, government officials, and other decision-makers on key policies and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to summarize and communicate complex data and policy ideas in ways that are suitable for political audiences.
  • Represent Save the Children at external meetings and events to support our influencing and profile-building efforts.
Requirements
  • A strong understanding of the UK political system and a curiosity about how change happens.
  • An ability to analyze, summarize, and persuasively communicate complex information in written form to a range of audiences.
  • Demonstrable excellence in verbal communication, presentation, and persuasion.
  • Experience of organizing events and a commitment to Save the Children's vision, mission, and values.
