Campaigns Coordinator for Climate Action

This is an exciting opportunity to join Compass, a highly ambitious organisation working to change the way we do politics. As a Campaigns Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our climate campaigns and building power for greater democracy and a just transition to a post-carbon, wellbeing-based society.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with a keen campaigning instinct, able to handle a fast-paced political environment. You will work closely with our Deputy Director and Clive's team to deliver high-impact digital communications for campaigns in Parliament and Norwich.
Key Responsibilities- Climate Campaigns: Support the development and implementation of climate campaigns, including creating digital communications materials, boosting Compass' campaigns, and engaging and growing our supporter base.
- Digital Communications: Develop and implement digital communications strategies to build the movement for a just transition and bolder climate action, including writing copy, designing social media graphics, and crafting powerful stories about democratic cooperation.
- Supporter Engagement: Help build the capacity of our supporter community, including analysing data from email campaigns, constructing comms plans, and designing vibrant graphics for events and podcasts.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with our Deputy Director and Clive's team to deliver high-impact campaigns, including connecting parliamentary activity with grassroots campaigning and linking between communicable activities and work happening on the ground.
- Clear Communication: Able to quickly and effectively translate ideas into clear and accurate communications, tailored to reach specific audiences.
- Flexibility and Multitasking: Able to work in a fast-paced political environment, to prioritise effectively and handle a range of responsibilities.
- Creativity and Enterprising: Able to deliver campaigns that energise and persuade, with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Able to work in a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, online and in person.
- Strong Attention to Detail: Patient with the small things, getting the copy of an email just right or handling supporter data with diligence and care.
- Willingness to Learn: The capacity to be open-minded, flexible, and eager to gain new skills.
- Passion for Political Change: Passionate about political change and willing to work for it.
- Relevant Experience: Relevant experience in the political campaigning sector, including digital campaign communications, experience working on campaigns or projects with tight deadlines, and a grasp of the mechanisms of a campaign.
- Digital Skills: Digital content creation and graphic design skills desirable but not essential, with a good knowledge of digital tools for the job, such as email tools, graphics programmes, and social media.
- UK Progressive Politics: An understanding of the UK progressive political scene and support for the aims, vision, and values of Clive Lewis MP and Compass.
