About the Position:

This role as a Programme Manager for the Climate Action Stage offers a unique opportunity to influence the global shift towards net zero emissions. You will lead the programming for the Climate Action Stage within the Climate Action Innovation Zone, contributing to our broader initiatives that align with key forums and discussions.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong comfort level engaging with high-ranking officials from the UN, business leaders, and government representatives, alongside a comprehensive understanding of climate change policies and the UNFCCC COP framework.

This position is tailored for a driven and passionate conference producer with a minimum of four years of experience in event production, seeking a challenging yet fulfilling role that allows you to shape a portfolio of sponsorship-driven events aimed at fostering positive environmental and social outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programme Oversight: Design, implement, and manage the Climate Action Stage programme and schedule in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Project Coordination: Supervise the project management for the Climate Action Stage, ensuring successful execution and audience engagement.
  • Content Strategy: Work with partners to develop and structure the content narrative for Climate Action Stage events, ensuring alignment with the overarching mission.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track timelines and milestones to ensure that objectives and KPIs for the Climate Action Stage are met.
  • Partner Relations: Identify and engage potential partners, coordinating with the commercial team to secure their involvement and sponsorship.
  • Event Logistics: Manage all logistical aspects for partners, including speaker invitations and content briefings, to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Briefing Preparation: Create and deliver briefings for each Climate Action Stage session to marketing and operations teams.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Partner with marketing and audience acquisition teams to devise effective communication strategies for target audiences.
  • Contract Oversight: Manage partnership agreements to ensure all deliverables are met and partner expectations are managed.
  • Client Relations: Provide outstanding service to partners and stakeholders, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Onboarding Support: Assist Climate Action Stage partners in defining event content and ensuring alignment with mission objectives.
  • Session Management: Develop and oversee the Climate Action Stage programme, ensuring engaging and impactful sessions.
  • Performance Evaluation: Implement and monitor strategies to achieve Climate Action Stage KPIs.
  • Speaker Coordination: Invite and confirm speakers as necessary, managing all related arrangements.
  • Marketing Content Creation: Produce promotional materials for various marketing channels.
  • Content Development: Draft outlines, scripts, and production briefs as needed.
  • Website Updates: Ensure the website reflects the latest programme information for Climate Action Stage events.
  • Onsite Management: Oversee the Climate Action Stage during events, ensuring partner objectives are met.
  • Post-Event Review: Conduct evaluations and prepare reports detailing event outcomes and insights.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in managing commercial B2B events, particularly in sustainability and climate change.
  • A minimum of 4 years in B2B conference production, with an additional 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in climate, sustainability, or sustainable finance.
  • A proven track record in producing impactful events.
  • Experience in designing conference agendas and securing high-level speakers.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience supporting commercial teams in achieving revenue targets.
  • Ability to create marketing materials aligned with conference themes.
  • Alignment with Climate Action's mission and objectives.
  • Desirable qualifications in sustainability or climate-related fields.
  • Extensive knowledge of climate change and sustainability issues.
  • Strong relationships within the industry.
  • Knowledge of climate policy and the UNFCCC COP process.
  • Leadership skills to drive initiatives and build partnerships.
  • Experience in delivering events in both live and virtual formats.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
