Position Overview:

We are looking for a driven and seasoned Business Development Manager - Sponsorship Sales to enhance our Climate Action initiatives and contribute to our esteemed portfolio of sustainable finance and investment conferences. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated promoter of sustainability, possessing a proven history of success in the field.

The candidate should have at least 10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on B2B event sales in the conference sector, particularly in high-value sponsorship sales.

A comprehensive understanding of conference-led events, especially those related to climate and sustainability themes, is essential. This includes areas such as sustainable investment, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), energy, finance, and transportation, among other critical topics linked to sustainability and industry decarbonization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximizing revenue through effective sponsorship sales strategies.
  • Identifying and securing new clients to enhance revenue and mutual value.
  • Managing existing client accounts to strengthen relationships.
  • Reconnecting with previous clients to rebuild partnerships.
  • Meeting and surpassing monthly sales targets.
  • Achieving daily KPIs consistently.
  • Maintaining a sales pipeline document for accurate reporting.
  • Providing accurate business forecasts on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Collecting product and company feedback from clients and prospects.
  • Facilitating client rebookings at events, adhering to our rebooking process.
  • Traveling to events to manage sponsor relationships and assist in event delivery.

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, demonstrating the ability to drive revenue and secure high-value sponsorships.
  • Experience in selling high-value event sponsorships to prominent brands.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of selling complex sponsorship packages both over the phone and in person.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent written and proposal development skills.
  • A passion for building robust client relationships.
  • A consultative sales approach with the ability to sell conceptually.
  • A solid sales process understanding, with the ability to create credible urgency and close deals effectively.
  • Outstanding research skills to identify new sales leads and decision-makers.
  • A strong ambition to succeed and maximize earnings, coupled with a competitive spirit.
  • A willingness to thrive in a KPI-driven environment where a significant portion of earnings is performance-based.
  • Experience with CRM systems and an understanding of their significance.
  • A genuine interest in contributing to a mission-driven, for-profit organization addressing the critical challenge of Climate Change.
