Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the COO, this independent position is intended to enhance all facets of the workplace experience at Climate Action, including recruitment, human resources support and administration, facilities oversight, coordination of internal events, travel logistics, communications, and overall company administration, effectively serving as the connective tissue of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Office Administration:
    • Identify and implement strategies to optimize business operations and minimize management overhead.
    • Ensure the seamless daily operation of the office, acting as the liaison with property management for lease renewals, equipment maintenance, and inquiries regarding supplies, invoices, and billing.
    • Manage office supplies and equipment procurement within the established budget.
    • Ensure staff have appropriate IT resources and telecommunications.
    • Review and renew the organization’s insurance policies as necessary.
  • Team Development and Wellbeing:
    • Assist in the planning and execution of team-building and wellness programs.
    • Oversee internal communications regarding team activities and company benefits, including flexible working hours and health programs.
    • Collaborate closely with the management team to promote and implement organizational change.
    • Coordinate quarterly offsite team-building events and seasonal celebrations.
    • Work alongside management and staff to enhance workplace relationships, boost morale, and improve retention rates.
  • Human Resources:
    • Lead recruitment efforts for all open positions, from drafting job descriptions to candidate placement, with extensive experience in sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
    • Demonstrate a solid understanding of UK employment laws and HR best practices.
    • Provide administrative support for onboarding and offboarding processes.
    • Assist line management during the induction and probation phases of new hires.
    • Deliver day-to-day HR support on performance management, employee relations, and engagement initiatives.
    • Maintain the HR database and employee records.
    • Handle all HR administrative tasks and manage outsourced payroll and pension administration.
    • Consult with external advisors to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
