We are thrilled to announce an opening for a Retail Operations Assistant Manager in our NEWLY OPENED store. This position requires a commitment of 30 hours per week.

We seek a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to assist in maximizing the store's potential.

As a Retail Operations Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Enhancing in-store processes and encouraging donations and sales to optimize profits.
  • Representing Mencap as a reputable and charitable organization, ensuring your actions align with our mission and values.
  • Fostering local stock generation through community donations.
  • Enrolling donors in the Gift Aid scheme to maximize income.
  • Overseeing profit targets by maximizing sales and managing costs effectively.
  • Maintaining a high standard of store presentation at all times.
  • Building a strong volunteer team, providing training, development, and performance reviews for both paid staff and volunteers.
  • Managing all financial transactions and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Experience as an assistant manager or supervisor, with a proven ability to manage budgets and accurately complete weekly financial reports, ideally with a background in charity retail.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and bank holidays as needed.
  • A willingness to travel for team meetings, training sessions, and to assist in the establishment of new retail locations.
  • A strong commitment to Mencap's values and a desire to contribute to the success of our retail brand.
