Senior Application Support Engineer (Linux & SQL)

A prominent FinTech organization specializing in advanced software solutions for post-trade processing is in search of a proficient Technical Support Engineer.

Your Responsibilities:

In the capacity of a Senior Application Support Engineer, you will be part of a close-knit, collaborative team dedicated to client assistance. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's product suite and take ownership of resolving 2nd and 3rd line support challenges. Your role will also involve addressing production issues and managing client integration requests, where you will engage with the codebase and implement your own code and system modifications into production.

This position is senior and hands-on, offering excellent career advancement prospects into leadership roles within Support or transitions into Engineering or Security.

Work-from-Home Policy:

The role allows for significant remote work flexibility, with weekly in-person meetings at the London office. Note that there are varying shift patterns, with the earliest start at 07:30 and the latest finish at 18:30, along with an on-call rotation every six weeks.

About You:

  • Experience in a comparable Application Support or Technical Support position
  • Strong expertise in Linux operating systems
  • Solid understanding of networking technologies
  • Proficient in writing SQL commands; MySQL experience is advantageous
  • Ability to script or code in any programming language, with Perl or Bash being preferred
  • Collaborative mindset with exceptional client and customer service abilities
  • Possession of a BSc in Computer Science or a related technical field
