The Engineer is a leading provider of centralized community energy projects. Due to our continued success, we are experiencing rapid growth across all business sectors. We are seeking a skilled Operations Manager to oversee the operations of our Energy Centres and conduct site inspections and reactive repairs in accordance with site procedures, rules, and line management instructions.

We operate at the forefront of delivering efficient low-carbon energy solutions across various sectors. Our team designs, operates, and maintains decentralized energy centres. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring Quality Management and Compliance Documentation is accurate and complete for each site.
  • Providing technical assistance while meeting Quality Standards and HSE Objectives.
  • Closely managing customer HSE objectives and Quality Standards.
  • Completing internal performance management general reporting.
  • Adopting The Engineer's HSE Policies, Procedures, and Objectives, and ensuring they are achieved.
  • Ensuring Statutory and Mandatory Inspections are satisfactorily carried out and documented in line with the Company's Management System.
  • Conducting site visits to Energy Centres, including risk management, H&S assessments, running training with engineers, and maintaining a presentable environment.

You will also be required to support the callout/standby rota and have a flexible approach to working practices and hours.

You will have a high level of technical knowledge and expertise in District Heat networks. It would be advantageous to have:

  • Mechanical bias with electrical knowledge in a similar environment.
  • Understanding the cause and effects of decentralized heating networks and implementing changes to ensure efficient use on demand that improves the efficiency of the District Network operations.
  • Heating systems, Energy Centre processes, and supporting distribution systems.
  • Preparing Method statements, Risk, COSHH Assessments, and Permits to Work.
  • Health & Safety management.

The following skills and expertise will be advantageous:

  • Served a recognized apprenticeship and/or be qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 in Plumbing/HVAC with Electrical qualifications and registered to the appropriate body as required for the role.
  • Managing safely or equivalent & NEBOSH.
  • Electrical qualification to the latest Edition of BS 7671 that includes installing or modifying current electrical controls.
  • Hold current CSCS card.
