Reproductive Medicine Clinical Fellow

Position Overview
Barts Health NHS Trust is inviting applications for a full-time Reproductive Medicine Clinical Fellow (ST3+) to become a part of the Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. This role is designed to provide comprehensive training in the field of fertility and assisted reproductive technology.
Role Summary
The successful candidate will engage in a one-year position, with the potential for an additional year based on performance evaluations in clinical and research activities. The role encompasses training in various aspects of fertility treatments and assisted reproductive technologies (ART). Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting outpatient evaluations and ultrasound examinations.
- Monitoring ART procedures such as ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination, IVF, ICSI, and more.
- Performing transvaginal oocyte retrievals and assessing tubal patency through hysterosalpingograms and Hycosys.
- Gaining exposure to sperm retrieval techniques and reproductive surgeries.
- Participating in the Fertility Preservation program and specialized clinics.
The post holder will also be encouraged to engage in Clinical Governance activities within the department, contributing to inspections and action plans.

Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will join a dedicated team of Clinical Fellows and consultants, receiving guidance from an educational supervisor throughout their training in reproductive medicine. The Centre is actively involved in both basic and clinical research, and the post holder will have the opportunity to participate in these initiatives. Allocated time for research will be provided based on the candidate's involvement and clinical duties.
All Clinical Fellows are encouraged to present their research findings and attend relevant meetings, both nationally and internationally, with opportunities for publication in peer-reviewed journals. The post holder may also be included in the on-call rota for obstetrics and gynaecology, with out-of-hours responsibilities discussed during the interview process.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- MBBS/MB ChB or equivalent MRCOG.
- A minimum of 5 years in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, approaching ST5 or above, with corresponding competency records.
Desirable:
- MD, MSc qualifications.
- Experience in ART procedures and ultrasound scanning.
- Previous training in an Infertility Centre.
Personal Attributes
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and a keen interest in research. Good organizational skills are also desirable.
Registration Requirements
