About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Business Assurance to join our team at Howden Group Holdings. As a key member of our Business Assurance function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our risk management and compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and coordinate file review and call monitoring approach to guarantee the highest standards of risk management and compliance.
  • Iterative review of Business Assurance processes, making recommendations for process improvement and driving implementation.
  • Coach staff, as required, in conjunction with line managers, to ensure a culture of risk awareness and compliance.
  • Manage assigned projects and contribute to other projects as required, ensuring timely delivery and effective outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of the Business Assurance Framework, providing risk-based assurance to Governance Committees on adherence to regulatory expectations and internal standards.
  • Review and respond to queries raised by the Business, providing advice and recommendations on how to improve or mitigate risks.
  • Prepare and circulate reports and committee packs, capturing key information and highlighting risks, priorities, recommendations, and presenting findings to senior management teams.
  • Work with other teams within the Business to ensure remedial action is addressed and monitored.

Requirements:

  • Commercial awareness and focus on the application of regulation within the insurance broking industry.
  • Experience of operating in a compliance, monitoring, or audit environment.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Influencing skills in securing buy-in to recommendations and business benefits.
