We are seeking to appoint two dynamic and approachable leaders who will hold managerial responsibilities for the delivery of clinical research services across various departments and specialties. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the R&D Department in executing the Trust's research strategy. The ideal candidates will be capable of making informed decisions within their area of expertise, engaging with patients and the public to ensure that established standards, targets, and objectives are achieved.

Main Responsibilities

  • Accountable for personal actions in line with the Code of Professional Conduct, contributing to corporate goals while adhering to local, Trust, and statutory guidelines and policies.
  • Exhibit advanced communication skills to maintain a high-quality service in a complex and demanding environment, often managing conflicting priorities.
  • Oversee the provision of a professional research nursing service and clinical delivery research across multiple departments, advocating for best practices and implementing review processes to enhance quality and efficiency in meeting patient and service needs.
  • Assist in the development and execution of policies, procedures, and guidelines across various departments, ensuring that clinical and research governance is integrated into practice.

Job Responsibilities

1. Assist the Lead Nurse of R&D in ensuring that service objectives are met and act as a deputy when necessary.

2. Manage processes related to complaints within research, training, and development; oversee appraisals and patient recruitment. Assume bleep-holder responsibilities for R&D as needed.

3. Utilize information and IT systems to generate accurate and timely workforce and resource data and reports.

4. Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of projects aimed at enhancing patient care and service development through the audit cycle, linking to clinical governance and research governance frameworks.

5. Occasionally engage in direct workload that requires moderate to high physical effort based on patient dependency or staff needs.

6. Demonstrate effective leadership by providing professional and emotional support to individuals and groups during challenging situations or unexpected events.

7. Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control, while complying with Health and Safety regulations and Trust policies designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from risks.
