Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Endocrine Service at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality patient care to individuals with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and specialized care to patients with PCOS, utilizing advanced nursing skills and expertise.
  • Develop and implement patient education programs to promote self-management and improve health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient-centered services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols, guidelines, and policies to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research activities to advance the field of PCOS care.
Leadership and Management
  • Lead the development and implementation of patient information resources, working closely with patients and families to ensure their needs are met.
  • Attend and participate in divisional, trust, and network committees to drive service improvement and innovation.
  • Evaluate the existing PCOS service, identifying areas for improvement and developing recommendations for change.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to review and develop trust policies related to clinical practice, ensuring they are evidence-based and effective.
Education and Research
  • Maintain a professional awareness of developments in research, nursing practice, and current trends within the field of PCOS/Endocrine Nursing.
  • Assess the skills and training needs of staff and develop educational programs to enhance their expertise and confidence.
  • Promote evidence-based practice, participate in audit projects, and encourage staff to engage in research and service development.
  • Identify personal training needs and career development opportunities, working closely with the Lead Endocrine Clinician.
