Coventry, Coventry, United Kingdom University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

Are you interested in joining a dedicated team focused on enhancing patient care and treatment outcomes across diverse patient populations while honing specialized skills in wound management?

We have openings within our Wound Healing Service, a specialized unit concentrating on challenging wounds. Our approach involves collaborating with each patient to establish realistic objectives based on their individual wound healing capabilities.

Our team provides advanced wound care treatments in various environments, including patients' homes, nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics. We also partner with Practice Nurses, Community Nurses, and nursing homes, offering a dynamic role that includes sharing wound care expertise throughout the community.

The position entails working in multiple settings—clinic, community, or residential care—tailored to the needs of the patient, delivering sophisticated wound healing interventions.

As an integral member of the Wound Healing Service, you will deliver effective, evidence-based wound care treatments and guidance to patients attending our service.

Important Note: This position is not suitable for candidates who need to complete the OSCE training program. Only applicants with current, valid UK NMC registration will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses working in various environments, including clinics, community settings, or residential homes, depending on patient requirements, while providing advanced wound care interventions.

As a proactive member of the Wound Healing Service, you will:

  • Deliver effective, evidence-based wound care treatments and advice to patients.
  • Support the service by supervising learners and visitors in the clinics.
  • Assume responsibility for the work area during your shift in the absence of the wound care sister, with support from senior staff, registered nurses, and healthcare support workers.
  • Collaborate with patients to develop personalized care plans that assess their potential for wound healing and determine the need for further multidisciplinary team involvement or advice on managing their condition.
