Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Debt and Welfare Benefits Specialist or a Financial Wellbeing Advisor to join our Money Advice Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality debt and welfare benefits advice to clients, working in a holistic approach that covers all areas of debt and welfare benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective debt and welfare benefits advice to clients, taking into account their individual circumstances and needs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a comprehensive advice service, including outreach work in other areas of the city.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of debt and welfare benefits legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs to build and improve money management and financial capability.
  • Work with clients to identify and address underlying issues contributing to debt and welfare benefits problems.

Requirements

  • Experience in providing debt and welfare benefits advice, preferably in a charity or advice service setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of debt and welfare benefits issues, with a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
