Qualified Child Welfare Specialist - Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Minors

We are seeking to engage a Qualified Child Welfare Specialist focusing on Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Minors within the social services sector.

This role will be for an initial period with the possibility of extension, contingent upon internal circumstances and individual performance.

Position Overview: The increase in the number of unaccompanied minors seeking asylum has necessitated an expansion of our social work team. We are looking to fill three full-time positions to enhance our capacity to support these vulnerable children.

Definition: Unaccompanied asylum seeking minors are defined as children who are applying for asylum independently and are not under the care of an adult, either legally or by custom.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of our organization is to assess and provide support, which typically involves treating these individuals as children in care.

To strengthen our team, we are in search of qualified social workers who are registered with the relevant professional body and possess substantial experience in working with unaccompanied minors in care.

Requirements:

  • Post-qualifying experience in a statutory children's social work team.
  • Enhanced DBS check (which can be arranged).
  • Access to a wide range of social care opportunities nationwide.
