Job Description:

Job Title: Attendance and Welfare Officer

Job Summary:

U-Educate is seeking a highly skilled Attendance and Welfare Officer to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional pastoral support and attendance services to students and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attendance Monitoring: Monitor daily student attendance records and identify patterns of absences or tardiness.
  • Communication: Communicate with parents or guardians regarding unexplained student absences and arrange meetings if necessary.
  • Attendance Improvement Plans: Implement and manage attendance improvement plans for students with chronic absenteeism.
  • Liaison and Collaboration: Liaise with teachers, school counsellors, and administrators to address and support students' attendance issues.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate reports on student attendance for school records and compliance with state laws.
  • Pastoral Support: Provide high-quality, well-planned pastoral support and guidance to pupils and families to promote high expectations, raise aspirations, and facilitate academic progress.

Requirements:

  • Positive Attitude: A positive and committed individual who will be able to take responsibility for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our children throughout the school day.
  • DBS Check: Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children.
  • Safeguarding Training: Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (candidates can undertake a free course with U-Educate if they have not got a safeguarding certificate dated from September 2023).
  • Secondary School Experience: Secondary school experience preferred but not essential.
