Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Attendance and Welfare Officer to join our team at U-Educate. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing pastoral support and guidance to students and families, promoting high expectations, raising aspirations, and facilitating academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track student attendance records to identify patterns of absences or tardiness.
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding unexplained student absences and arrange meetings if necessary.
- Implement and manage attendance improvement plans for students with chronic absenteeism.
- Liaise with teachers, school counsellors, and administrators to address and support students' attendance issues.
- Prepare and maintain accurate reports on student attendance for school records and compliance with state laws.
- Provide high-quality pastoral support and guidance to pupils and families to promote high expectations, raise aspirations, and facilitate academic progress.
Requirements:
- A positive and committed individual who will be able to take responsibility for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our children throughout the school day.
- Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children.
- Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (You can undertake a free course with U-Educate if you have not got a safeguarding certificate dated from September 2023).
- Secondary school experience preferred but not essential.
