Job Title: Attendance & Welfare Officer - Part Time

We are seeking an exceptional Attendance & Welfare Officer to join our team at Kings Norton Girls' School and Sixth Form. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and their families.

About the Role:

The Attendance & Welfare Officer will work closely with students, families, and staff to support student attendance and well-being. This includes identifying and addressing attendance issues, conducting safe and well checks, and helping students whose attendance is declining.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with children, young people, parents/carers/families within the field of education, social care or the voluntary sector, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support student attendance and well-being through close collaboration with students, families, and staff
  • Identify and address attendance issues, conduct safe and well checks, and help students whose attendance is declining
  • Work in line with the school's safeguarding and attendance policies to reduce persistent and severe absence
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with children, young people, parents/carers, colleagues, and other professionals
Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working with children, young people, parents/carers/families within the field of education, social care or the voluntary sector
  • A good understanding of the issues and problems impacting families
  • The ability to motivate and challenge disaffected young people
  • A driving licence and use of a car (travel expenses paid)
