Citizens Advice Birmingham is seeking a skilled Welfare Benefits Advisor to join our team in delivering high-quality advice services to individuals affected by cancer.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on welfare benefits and financial assistance to clients in outreach settings across Birmingham and Solihull.
- Collaborate with cancer care teams to ensure seamless referral pathways and provide support to patients.
- Undertake casework, assisting clients to access their entitlement to welfare benefits and other sources of financial help, up to and including tribunal representation.
- Attend events to promote the service and provide training to volunteers and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of welfare benefits and financial assistance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
