About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Welfare Benefits Advisor to join our team at Irwin Mitchell. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality welfare benefits advice and related services to our clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they receive the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist welfare benefits advice to clients, including support with benefit applications, assessments, and appeals.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored advice and support.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of welfare policy, services, and advocacy services to ensure that clients receive the best possible advice.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that clients receive a seamless and integrated service.
  • Contribute to the development of the IM Benefits Advice Service across the business, including providing training and support to case handlers.
  • Ensure that all work carried out meets or exceeds SLAs and client commitments, and that quality advice is provided and compliance with firm policies and procedures is maintained.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years' experience of giving in-depth specialist advice on welfare benefits, including supporting clients with benefit applications, assessments, and appeals.
  • Experience of providing a generalist welfare benefits advice service to ensure clients' needs are met.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to clients and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong research and analysis skills, with the ability to evaluate service standards and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a pressurized environment.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to travel during the course of employment.
