Job Description:

We are seeking a Child Psychology Graduate to join our team as a Support Assistant in a special school in Birmingham. As a Support Assistant, you will work directly with children and young adults, supporting their development in education, social, and sensory/additional needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the educational and social development of children and young adults with Autism, Social Emotional and Mental Health, and Learning Difficulties
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Provide one-to-one support to students in the classroom and during activities
  • Assist with the preparation and implementation of lesson plans and activities
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and other support staff

Requirements:

  • Child Psychology Graduate degree or equivalent
  • Enhanced Child DBS check or willingness to apply
  • Registered on the update service
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
