Job Title: Nurture Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurture Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Beacon View Primary Academy. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our students and contributing to the overall success of our school.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support to teachers and students, with a focus on nurturing and promoting the well-being of our students. You will work closely with our teaching staff to develop and implement effective lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide feedback to students and parents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and prepare lessons, participating in all stages of the planning cycle, including in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans.
  • Develop and prepare resources for learning activities in accordance with lesson plans and in response to pupil need.
  • Contribute to the planning of opportunities for pupils to learn in out-of-school contexts in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Teach whole classes covering PPA and emergency staff absence, providing detailed verbal and written feedback on lesson content, pupil responses to learning activities and student behaviour.
  • Assist in maintaining and analysing records of pupils' progress, contributing to programmes of observation and assessment as planned by the teacher and providing reports, evaluations, and other information to assist in the provision of appropriate support for specific children.
  • Support and guide other less experienced teaching assistants' work in the classroom when required and lead training for other teaching assistants.
Requirements:
  • A minimum qualification of GCSE English & Maths at grade C/4 or above (or Level 2 or above equivalent qualification)
  • Hold the HLTA Qualification or equivalent, has a secure knowledge of primary education and meets the HLTA standards
  • Have either experience of, or a significant interest in, the use of nurture to support children who have experienced ACES (training will be provided)
  • Experience of working in a school environment, interacting with parents and families
