We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurture Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Beacon View Primary Academy. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our students and contributing to the overall success of our school.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support to teachers and students, with a focus on nurture and inclusion. You will work closely with our teaching staff to develop and implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide feedback to students and parents.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and prepare lessons, participating in all stages of the planning cycle, including in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans.
- Develop and prepare resources for learning activities in accordance with lesson plans and in response to pupil need.
- Contribute to the planning of opportunities for pupils to learn in out-of-school contexts in line with school policies and procedures.
- Teach whole classes covering PPA and emergency staff absence, providing detailed verbal and written feedback on lesson content, pupil responses to learning activities and student behaviour.
- Motivate and progress pupils' learning by using clearly structured, interesting teaching and learning activities.
- Be familiar with lesson plans, SEND support plan targets and learning objectives.
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
- Use behaviour management strategies, in line with the school's policy and procedures, to contribute to a purposeful learning environment and encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others.
- Organise and safely manage the appropriate learning environment and resources.
- Provide support and assistance for student's pastoral needs.
- Provide physical support and maintain personal equipment used by the students at the school.
- Foster and maintain constructive and supportive relationships with parents/carers, exchanging appropriate information, facilitating their support for their child's attendance, access, and learning, and supporting home to school and community links.
- A minimum qualification of GCSE English & Maths at grade C/4 or above (or Level 2 or above equivalent qualification)
- Hold the HLTA Qualification or equivalent, has a secure knowledge of primary education and meets the HLTA standards
- Have either experience of, or a significant interest in, the use of nurture to support children who have experienced ACES (training will be provided)
- Experience of working in a school environment
- Interacting with parents and families
