Overview of the Role

This position is exclusively available to all permanent and temporary staff, as well as agency personnel currently engaged with East Dunbartonshire Council.

Please be aware that the salary will be adjusted for part-time roles.

A vacancy has emerged within the Finance Department for an individual with relevant expertise in revenue management, banking operations, or accounting systems.

The role is situated within the Quality Assurance and Revenue Management team, which is tasked with the prompt and precise handling of the Council's income transactions related to financial oversight, revenue collection, and housing rental systems. This position is vital to the overall process, involving the examination and reconciliation of transactions while maintaining comprehensive documentation. The team operates in a high-pressure environment to meet critical deadlines, and the role may require interaction with the Council's banking institution, clients, and other staff members. Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of revenue protocols and banking regulations, including anti-money laundering practices, along with proficient spreadsheet capabilities and appropriate personal attributes. Previous experience with the relevant systems and a systematic approach would be highly advantageous.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland Requirements

The following criteria apply to all positions within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are mandatory.

If the position you are applying for is classified as Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, successful candidates will be required to enroll in the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before employment confirmation by East Dunbartonshire Council.

Please note that successful candidates will be responsible for the cost of the relevant check, which will be deducted from their first salary payment.

In certain situations, the payment may be deducted in installments from the employee's wages following the start of employment, subject to approval by HR Services Lead.

Should an employee resign before the payment is fully deducted, the entire amount will be taken from their final salary.

The criteria outlined above will also apply to current employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for positions requiring a PVG/Disclosure check.
