**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Cost Estimator to join our team at Eagle Construction Gp. As a key member of our pre-construction team, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive priced tenders that meet our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the pre-construction team to develop priced tenders that meet our clients' requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and professionals to promote further tender invitations and provide clear price build-ups to the contract team.
  • Oversee the quote analysis comparison and selection process for inclusion in priced tenders.
  • Conduct site inspections, record notes, and take photographs to inform tender pricing.
  • Build up allowances for each project using standard prelim forms and discuss construction sequences with contracts managers to determine proposed construction periods.
  • Re-assess build-ups taking account of all known conditions and requirements and adjust figures as necessary.
  • Prepare tender build-ups and lead meetings with the pre-construction manager, operation team, and business manager or director to adjudicate prices prior to tender submission.
  • Meet with clients to carry out value engineering exercises and liaise with internal departments and suppliers as necessary.
  • Assist in the selection of materials and sub-contractors and propose alternative materials or methods.
  • Organize meetings, prepare agendas, lead meetings, and provide minutes and feedback as necessary.
  • Help with the coaching and mentoring of technical trainees in the estimating department.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience as a construction estimator (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
