Job Summary:

The Medical Research Council is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Divisional Administrator Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our Division, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, and contributing to the success of our research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage routine office administration, including scheduling, correspondence, and record-keeping.
  • Manage and prioritize your own workload with minimal supervision, ensuring timely completion of tasks and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Make decisions within established guidelines and procedures, exercising discretion and judgment when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of administrative processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement and suggesting innovative solutions.

Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including minimum Grade C in Mathematics and English.
    • Some administrative experience, preferably in a busy office, laboratory, or clinical environment.
  • Desirable:
    • Administrative experience in a research or academic setting.
    • Experience working with multiple processes and tight deadlines.
    • Experience working with confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal Microsoft Office training or IT qualification (e.g., ECDL, CLAIT).
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Customer Relationship Management systems.
