Divisional Administrator Assistant

Job Summary:
The Medical Research Council is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Divisional Administrator Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our Division, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, and contributing to the success of our research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage routine office administration, including scheduling, correspondence, and record-keeping.
- Manage and prioritize your own workload with minimal supervision, ensuring timely completion of tasks and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Make decisions within established guidelines and procedures, exercising discretion and judgment when necessary.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of administrative processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement and suggesting innovative solutions.
Requirements:
- Essential:
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including minimum Grade C in Mathematics and English.
- Some administrative experience, preferably in a busy office, laboratory, or clinical environment.
- Desirable:
- Administrative experience in a research or academic setting.
- Experience working with multiple processes and tight deadlines.
- Experience working with confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal Microsoft Office training or IT qualification (e.g., ECDL, CLAIT).
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Customer Relationship Management systems.

- Proactive and flexible attitude, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- High levels of personal integrity, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
