You will be part of a community of innovators, collaborators, and enthusiastic learners, all embracing a flexible, value-driven approach. Here, you can realize your full potential and, through your skills, create a significant impact in the realm of education.

Our Mission

At Perlego, nearly 100 dedicated individuals are striving to make education accessible to everyone. We believe that access to high-quality, affordable learning is the key to unlocking potential. Knowledge should be easily obtainable, not confined behind exorbitant costs.

We have recently broadened our library to offer over 1 million books at affordable prices for learners, achieved a 100% Gold ASPIRE rating for accessibility, and reached over 15 million individuals. The next phase for Perlego involves two main objectives: 1) enhancing our support for students and publishers worldwide, and 2) developing a platform that transcends traditional books, enabling students to study more effectively and educators to teach more efficiently.

What We Seek

We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People & Talent team, who has a proven track record of delivering an exceptional candidate experience and attracting top talent in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for recruitment across all functions and areas, including Engineering, Product, and Commercial, requiring adaptability, approachability, and motivation. We seek someone who will champion our distinctive culture, fostering internal engagement and recruiting the best individuals to enhance our community and contribute to our mission.

Collaborative Work Environment

Perlego operates through cross-functional teams collaborating on shared objectives. Our People and Finance teams unite to form our Enabler Tribe, empowered to execute strategic initiatives that drive both business and employee impact. In addition to your role in recruiting top talent for Perlego, you will engage in diverse projects with the Enabler Tribe and learn the essentials of Agile methodologies.

Your Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the People & Talent Partner, you will oversee the recruitment process for various roles, securing exceptional talent to help Perlego fulfill its mission of making learning accessible.
  • Provide an outstanding candidate experience, highlighting the best aspects of our culture and values throughout the recruitment journey.
  • Manage multiple intricate hiring processes with competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Utilize various recruitment tools to create a robust and diverse talent pipeline for each position, including proactive sourcing and managing incoming applications.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify team needs, assisting them in crafting compelling job descriptions and tailored hiring processes to find the ideal candidates.
  • Create engaging and impactful employer branding content for our careers page, job platforms, and social media to showcase our culture and work environment.
  • Enhance our culture and promote unity by organizing social events and in-person activities.
  • Support the onboarding process, ensuring new hires are set up for success, including preparing contracts and collaborating with hiring managers on initial plans for new team members.

Candidate Profile

This position is ideal for you if:

  • You thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment and want to play a key role in our organizational scaling.
  • You are comfortable with change and embrace uncertainty; no two days are alike.
  • You enjoy challenges: Perlego is a place where we encourage each other to grow, and if you prefer a static environment, this may not be the right fit.
  • You are eager to enhance your Talent Acquisition skills and learn in diverse areas—every day presents a new opportunity.

Success Metrics for This Role:

  • In 1 month: You will understand our operational methods and actively manage a hiring pipeline.
  • In 3 months: You will take ownership of your recruitment pipeline and engage in projects that improve employee and candidate experiences.
  • In 6 months: You will have built strong relationships with several hiring managers, assisting them in shaping their teams' future hiring strategies.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills: You will need to forge strong relationships with stakeholders across all teams and levels, ensuring candidates receive empathetic support throughout the recruitment process.
  • Previous experience in a Talent Acquisition role: You will have managed your own hiring pipelines and closely collaborated with managers to secure top talent.
  • Strong organizational skills: You will not only manage your schedule but also coordinate with candidates and hiring managers, requiring the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • An adaptable mindset: As a growing business, Perlego operates at a fast pace, so flexibility is essential.
  • Self-motivation and drive: You should possess a strong desire to achieve the best outcomes and consistently strive to hire the right person for each role.
  • A solutions-oriented approach: When faced with challenges, we encourage creative problem-solving.
  • The ability to comprehend briefs: You should excel at gathering context and listening to requirements, with a genuine curiosity about Perlego as a business.
  • A passion for culture: As a guardian of our unique culture, you must be dedicated to creating the best possible workplace.
  • An experimental mindset: You should be able to identify areas for improvement and be willing to test new hiring methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in hiring Software Engineers and other technical roles.
  • Experience in international recruitment.
  • Experience in creating and promoting employer branding content that engages candidates.
  • Experience in a growing startup environment.

Benefits Overview:

Compensation: The minimum salary for this role is competitive, with additional share options.

Why Join Perlego? Beyond our mission, we cultivate a unique company culture that promotes self-empowerment, personal growth, open communication, and mutual support.

Flexible Work Environment: We offer a flexible hybrid working model, with a preference for in-office collaboration a few times a week.

Learning and Development: We value continuous learning, providing a personal budget for courses, subscriptions, or books outside of Perlego.

Health and Wellbeing: We prioritize employee health, offering private medical insurance and access to therapy and counseling services.
