We are in search of a dedicated and proactive Research Operations Coordinator to support our diverse Research Team at North Bristol NHS Trust.

In this position, you will provide comprehensive administrative assistance across various research initiatives. The role will be supervised by the Clinical Research Manager, who will oversee the distribution of responsibilities among different teams.

Key Responsibilities

This role is essential in facilitating the operations of various research teams within the Research & Development Department. The successful candidate will need to be adaptable and provide administrative support across different teams. This is a fixed-term full-time position for a duration of 12 months, with no guarantee of extension.

The role is suitable for an individual who is flexible, self-driven, highly organized, and possesses strong communication and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Daily management of trial databases.
  • Drafting research and clinic correspondence.
  • Administrative tasks related to various research trials.
  • Scheduling patient appointments and managing appointment calendars.
  • Communicating with research study sponsors and pharmaceutical companies.
  • Engaging with patients and other healthcare professionals.
  • Organizing mail merges and distributing relevant documents.
  • Coordinating meetings and producing accurate minutes.
  • General administrative support for trials and Principal Investigators.

The individual will report to the Clinical Research Centre Manager and will be expected to work flexibly across various research teams based on departmental needs.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Essential:

  • ECDL or equivalent qualification or experience.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Business Administration Level 3 or equivalent experience.

Work Experience:

Essential:

  • Prior administrative experience adhering to protocols and standard operating procedures.

Desirable:

  • Experience within the NHS.
  • Background in Clinical Research.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Essential:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, TEAMS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with a range of administrative processes (minute-taking, diary management, meeting arrangements, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with databases.
  • Awareness of NHS research issues.
