Position: Caretaker

Location: Forrest Gate – East London

Salary: £26,963 - £28,383 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to enhance our Estate Services team based in Forrest Gate. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality caretaking service, which includes tasks such as cleaning communal areas, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining the cleanliness of doors and windows. Although this position involves working independently, you will be part of a larger team of Caretakers and may provide support to other sites as needed. The ideal candidate will possess experience in cleaning or caretaking, with a proven ability to deliver exceptional service, demonstrate teamwork, and maintain high standards of customer care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general caretaking duties, including cleaning shared spaces like stairwells, doors, and windows, as well as removing bulk waste.
  • Conduct grounds maintenance tasks, such as litter collection and general upkeep.
  • Collaborate with customers to address concerns and enhance service quality.
  • Complete all necessary documentation related to tasks performed.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are kept in good working order.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a similar cleaning or caretaking role.
  • Possession of a British Institute Certificate in Cleaning Services (BICS) is advantageous.
  • Practical knowledge of operating hand tools and light machinery.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • A valid UK driving license is required for driving company vehicles.
