Position Overview

We are thrilled to introduce a new opportunity for a Financial Compliance Specialist within our dynamic Finance team.

In this essential role, you will contribute significantly to the documentation, assessment, testing, and reporting of financial controls within our Finance division. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining a robust and appropriate financial control framework, effectively addressing any existing or potential control challenges, and ensuring that all financial operations adhere to professional standards and governance principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Finance Risk Champion.
  • Support the financial control framework to uphold consistent high standards of financial integrity and facilitate the early detection and effective management of potential issues or risks.
  • Evaluate business controls and develop remediation action plans for any identified deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with various departments to document processes and create process flow diagrams.
  • Monitor and oversee the results of internal and/or external audits and assessments.
  • Regularly prepare financial control management information reports or on an as-needed basis to fulfill business requirements.
  • Engage with finance and business leaders to promote and communicate sound financial control practices, ensuring appropriate actions are taken when necessary.
  • Assist the Regulatory Reporting and Financial Reporting teams as required.

Candidate Profile

You will be an ideal candidate if you possess the following:

  • A recent professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA).
  • A solid understanding of controls and their application within an insurance context.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in digital tools.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SOX, internal, or external audits.
  • Familiarity with general insurance accounting practices.
  • Advanced digital skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.

Professional Development Opportunities
