Position: Financial Control Specialist at esure

esure, a leading digital insurer, is seeking a Financial Control Specialist to play a crucial role in our Finance team. Your responsibilities will include managing financial controls, testing processes, and ensuring compliance with professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Finance Risk Champion role, ensuring the integrity of our financial systems
  • Support the finance control framework, identifying areas for improvement
  • Test business controls and prepare action plans to mitigate risks
  • Liaise with business stakeholders to document processes and ensure compliance
  • Prepare Finance control Management Information (MI) reports to inform business decisions
  • Engage with leaders to promote good financial control practices and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Support the Regulatory Reporting and Financial Reporting teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Recent professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA or CIMA
  • Understanding of controls in insurance, including SOX and internal audit
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts
  • Intermediate digital literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Problem-solving abilities, with a focus on analytical and critical thinking

Preferred:

  • Experience in SOX, internal, or external audit, with a focus on financial controls
  • Knowledge of general insurance accounting, including financial reporting and regulatory requirements
  • Advanced digital skills, including data analysis and visualization
