At Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services UK, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Operative to join our team. As an Industrial Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain the LTLGS Integrated Quality Management System IQ Move, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Properly package and label special/hazardous waste, and transport it to the designated waste storage location, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Test and maintain high-level alarms on plating shop equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Maintain the shop floor, Pit, Effluent treatment Plant, and surrounding areas clean and tidy, adhering to 5S standards.
  • Top up process tanks as instructed by the company chemist(s), ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Complete paperwork attesting to the completion of tasks on their due date, maintaining accurate records.
  • Perform basic mechanical equipment maintenance, removal of access panels, etc., to aid the performance of the Waste management part of the role.
  • Remove waste bags from the shop floor area and transport them to the designated waste storage location.
Requirements:
  • Hold a minimum of GCSE level or equivalent education.
  • Fluent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Desirable to have previously held forklift and/or cherry-picker license.
  • Good knowledge, awareness, and understanding of PPE use in an industrial setting.
  • Prior experience in handling hazardous waste is desirable.
  • Desirable to have worked within the Aviation environment.
  • COMAH awareness is considered beneficial.
  • Able to use initiative to complete assigned tasks.
  • Good communicator, able to communicate with colleagues regarding tasks and other business issues.
  • PC and IT literate.
