Department/Role Overview

Data and information are critical assets for any successful organization, and Ashurst recognizes the importance of robust data governance practices. As part of our ongoing digital transformation journey, we have established a dedicated Data Governance team to ensure the effective management and protection of our data.

This role within the Data Governance team provides advisory services across the firm, supporting more senior professionals in implementing our comprehensive Data Governance Framework.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop essential data governance artifacts such as data flow diagrams and interface control documents (integration data mapping documents) in collaboration with project teams and subject matter experts.
  • Support IT and business units by documenting the technical and business metadata for critical data elements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and maintain clear and unambiguous business rules for crucial data sets.
  • Act as a Data Governance specialist, working closely with IT and business teams to guide change initiatives and promote best practices.
  • Engage with business subject matter experts (SMEs) and data stewards to ensure accurate and consistent data definitions.
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of Data Stewardship and Data Ownership programs.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to ad-hoc information requests, adhering to agreed service levels.
