Position Overview

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Recovery College Support Facilitator with a specialized focus on neurodiversity to join our team at the Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This role involves providing support to our students through various communication methods, including video calls, telephone conversations, text messaging, and in-person meetings.

As a Recovery College Support Facilitator, you will play a vital role in promoting the college and assisting in the co-creation and delivery of high-quality recovery education programs. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting students with their enrollment and developing personalized learning plans.

• Informing students about the college and understanding their needs to facilitate their access to educational resources.

• Supporting students in attending courses and acting as a mentor for online learning.

We encourage applications from individuals who:

• Have personal experience with mental or physical health challenges, particularly with lived experience of neurodiversity, and are eager to use that experience to assist others.

• Are passionate about motivating and empowering others.

• Have prior experience providing formal or informal peer support to individuals navigating recovery or facing mental health challenges from diverse backgrounds.

• Possess relevant training or development experience in mental health settings, whether statutory or voluntary.

• Have a history of maintaining boundaries while supporting others in similar circumstances.

Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:

• Directly engaging with a designated group of students through various communication methods, including video calls, telephone conversations, text messaging, and in-person meetings.

• Operating independently while adhering to the guidance of Peer Trainers and the organization's policies and procedures.

• Collaborating with students and the broader Recovery College team to develop Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).

• Utilizing your lived experience to provide understanding, support, and encouragement to individuals accessing our services, while promoting independence and recovery.
