Position: Fire Safety and Security Technician

Location: Ely

Salary: £35,995 - £37,889 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week

We are looking for a Fire Safety and Security Technician to join our specialized team in Ely. You will be part of a committed group responsible for the routine upkeep, repairs, and installation of essential safety and security systems, including Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting, CCTV, warden call systems, and access control. This role comes with a company vehicle, and you will be tasked with covering various locations across East Anglia and the South East.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform servicing, repairs, and installations of fire alarms, extinguishers, and security systems, including warden call systems.
  • Ensure the maintenance of systems such as fire alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting, and fire shutters to uphold safety and compliance standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues, keeping clients informed throughout the process.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in optimal condition and manage stock levels as necessary.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • To comply with Building Safety legislation, candidates must possess a City & Guilds qualification or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field. FIA industry standard qualifications, Electrical 18th Edition wiring regulations, Safe Isolation, and Small Works Certificate are desirable. Candidates with lower-level qualifications and relevant experience who are willing to pursue further qualifications with our support are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the fire and security sector.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety legislation and its application.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose issues effectively and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • A valid UK driving license is required for driving company vehicles.

Candidates will need to present original documentation verifying their qualifications during the interview. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
