JOB OVERVIEW

As a Reliability and Maintenance Specialist, you will deliver technical knowledge, advisory services, and leadership to ensure the uninterrupted operation and certification of client equipment by leveraging pertinent digital solutions, maintenance data, and analytical reports. Your role is pivotal in driving the success of the Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) program, contributing to Rigsentry (RS) advancements, and enhancing equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Employ data analysis, condition monitoring, and maintenance evaluations to assess and relay the status, reliability, and availability of NOV's offerings within CBM initiatives.
  • Facilitate the success of CBM programs by providing support to the Program Manager (PGM) and Project Manager (PM) as a trusted consultant. Proactively initiate risk assessments and manage mitigation processes beyond the PGM and PM's scope, engaging with product groups and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to uphold organization-wide commitment to reliability, maintainability, and design considerations for both existing and new products throughout their life cycle.
  • Contribute insights to identify risks related to reliability and other operational factors that may negatively impact performance.
  • Partner with Corporate teams to develop engineering solutions for asset management, data collection, failure analytics, and other critical operational information.
  • Work alongside the Maintenance & Reliability Engineering Manager to define and implement departmental processes and ensure ongoing improvements.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Be prepared to travel regionally or internationally as needed.
Facility/Group Specific Duties:
  • Lead initiatives to enhance equipment maintenance, boosting reliability and availability.
  • Act as a Maintenance & Reliability Subject Matter Expert (SME) to manage and communicate design enhancements on NOV equipment, guided by data, field results, and customer insights.
  • Advise and contribute to engineering solutions aimed at preventing recurring or critical failures, engaging in Root Cause Analysis as necessary.
  • Develop technical and equipment reliability plans, requirements, inspection protocols, and certification scopes.
  • Assist PGM/PM in translating Class, Standard (ISO), OEM, and maintenance product requirements into actionable plans.
  • Review and endorse certification criteria for equipment involved in programs.
  • Create certification templates that connect requirements for data, models, and tolerances to streamline the certification process.
  • Establish prioritized requirements for the development and configuration of analytical software modules as dictated by program needs.
  • Evaluate the quality and value of automating manual inspection processes, focusing on enhancements in instrumentation, tracking, communication, and overall cost efficiency.
  • For approved R&D initiatives, initiate and coordinate necessary developments and certifications.
  • Collaborate with equipment engineers and product owners, along with the Standardization group and other NOV departments, to ensure the accuracy of information and documentation for program execution.
  • Review and manage feedback from programs, creating continuous feedback loops between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Achieve agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Familiarity with NOV Subsea Equipment / Systems (Preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Technical/Engineering Apprenticeship (Essential)
  • Certification as CMRP or a documented understanding of maintenance principles, management, and execution (Essential)
  • Experience in Lead Engineering roles, Technical Project Management, or field experience as a Maintenance Lead/Supervisor or Maintenance Manager (Preferred)
  • Experience with R&D and improvement methodologies (Preferred)
  • A combination of relevant experiences will be considered.
  • Knowledge of design and maintenance of rotating machinery (Preferred)
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Understanding of maintenance analytics theory and its application
  • Familiarity with reliability theory
  • Proficiency in IT
