About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Imaging Specialist to join our team at NHS Professionals Limited. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialized clinical diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring the highest possible standards and a very high degree of reproducibility.
  • Accurately enter patient data into each imaging platform, ensuring the images captured are for the correct patient.
  • Collaborate with specialist Ophthalmic Consultants, Optometrists, and Nursing staff to ensure accurate diagnosis and care pathway for patients.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the eye and a sound knowledge of ophthalmic conditions, ensuring the best representation of the condition is described in the imaging.
  • Be conversant with Visual Fields and the pathology of disease, enabling you to undertake procedures without supervision.
  • Test patients' visual fields and visual acuity for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Assess patients' ability to pass the DVLA requirement for Visual Fields and Visual Acuity.
Requirements
  • Proficiency and confidence in imaging patients' Retina, Optic Discs, and Corneas using Optical Coherence Tomography, Retinal Fundal Photography, and other ophthalmic imaging equipment as necessary.
  • Commitment to studying for further qualifications in ophthalmic imaging/measurements and related work.
  • Awareness of NHS policies and procedures.
