Senior Imaging Specialist

About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Imaging Technician to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for performing a range of imaging tasks, including visual field measurements, disc imaging, and OCT, FFA/ICG, and slit lamp photography.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct visual field measurements and disc imaging using advanced equipment
- Perform OCT, FFA/ICG, and slit lamp photography to diagnose and monitor eye conditions
- Assist in the training and supervision of junior staff members
- Contribute to departmental policies and procedures
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals
Person Specification
- Science A Level or equivalent experience
- Significant experience of working within Ophthalmic imaging to degree level equivalent
- A detailed understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the eye and a sound knowledge of ophthalmic conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficient in the use of Humphrey visual field analyser and other imaging equipment
