Senior Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Imaging Technician to join our team at NHS Professionals Limited. As a Senior Imaging Technician, you will play a critical role in providing a Visual Field and Ophthalmic Imaging Service, overseeing training of imagers, and auditing image quality.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized clinical diagnostic imaging procedures that meet the highest possible standards with a very high degree of reproducibility.
- Accurately enter patient data into each imaging platform to ensure the images captured are for the correct patient.
- In liaison with specialist Ophthalmic Consultants, Optometrists, and Nursing staff, ensure accurate diagnosis and care pathway for the patient.
- Complete imaging of patients' Retina, Optic Discs, and Corneas using a variety of equipment, including Fundus camera and software programs for fluorescein angiography, Indocyanine Green angiography, and retinal photography.
- The testing of patients' visual fields and visual acuity for diagnosis and treatment.
- Assessment of patients' ability to pass the DVLA (Driving Vehicle Licensing Authority) requirement for Visual Fields and Visual Acuity.
- Analyze, judge, and advise on imaging requests.
- Manage own imaging workload, including allocation of tasks and prioritization of workload, to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the imaging service.
- Review test results and communicate with doctors where urgent intervention is required.
- Use image manipulation and graphics software to optimize image acquisition.
- Monitor equipment levels and equipment performance, reporting and ordering supplies, ordering and liaising with manufacturers as to service and repair.
